Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical security engineering strategy and roadmap across AppSec, CloudSec, penetration testing, SecOps, and incident detection.
- Represent security engineering in cross-functional and executive forums and translate technical risk into business impact.
- Direct the integration of automated security controls into engineering pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Provide final technical escalation and approval for complex cloud architecture, IAM, and Zero Trust decisions.
- Set standards for penetration testing, red-team simulations, detection engineering, and incident response.
- Lead containment and post-incident reviews during critical security incidents.
- Mentor senior and junior security engineers and shape career development and technical growth.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and Cyber leadership on hiring, career ladders, and resourcing decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 8 years of progressive engineering experience.
- Deep experience in either defensive or offensive security and strong working fluency across both disciplines.
- Hands-on senior-level experience in application security, cloud architecture defense, penetration testing, or security operations.
- Practical knowledge of public cloud topologies, containerization and orchestration, GitLab CI pipelines, manual testing, and forensic tooling.
- Expert understanding of the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, applied cryptography, and federated authentication architectures.
- Experience aligning security controls to PCI-DSS v4.0, SOC 1, SOC 2, and DORA.
- Experience mentoring engineers, shaping technical roadmaps, or influencing hiring and resourcing decisions.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Security - Specialty, CKS, CISSP, OSCP, OSCE, SANS GXPN, GCIH, GCFA, and OffSec OSAI.
