Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver internet-scale backend services for a globally distributed game.
- Develop and support multi-service architecture for scalable services.
- Build features spanning in-game functionality through backend service implementation.
- Improve server reliability and performance through new features and infrastructure.
- Build and support live game services and integrate with Riot platforms.
- Use cloud technologies and services such as AWS.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with art, design, and other game-development disciplines.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience building large-scale backend systems or game services.
- Experience developing large systems from scratch, including requirements gathering and scalable, production-ready architecture design.
- BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Expertise with C++ and Golang.
- Experience with cloud computing and cloud technologies.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of technical lead experience.
- Preferred: experience with global-scale online games, Unreal Engine, mobile game development, both client and service architecture, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, and Docker or similar containerization technologies.
