Base Salary
$220k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build services handling massive consumer traffic, data, and usage.
- Design performant, secure, scalable, and observable systems.
- Own systems through design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Lead by example in code quality, system design, documentation, and operational maturity.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their needs and build effective abstractions.
- Scale Kubernetes infrastructure and control planes for product and ML growth.
- Build and operate distributed databases, caching layers, storage systems, inference infrastructure, developer platforms, push notification systems, CDN infrastructure, and audio/video delivery and encryption.
- Manage migrations from legacy systems and build shared AI infrastructure, agentic tooling, workflows, knowledge graphs, and AI tooling evaluation systems.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of infrastructure, backend, or systems engineering experience.
- Experience building and operating systems at significant scale in production.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, AWS or GCP, and modern infrastructure patterns.
- Experience with some combination of Kubernetes, Docker, Pulumi, Terraform, CDK, Postgres, distributed relational databases, caching systems, or container orchestration.
- Ability to solve complex scaling, reliability, and performance problems with sound technical judgment.
- Demonstrated ownership of projects from end to end, strong stakeholder communication, and ability to work independently amid ambiguity.
- Preferred experience includes Kubernetes at scale, large-scale databases or storage systems, ML infrastructure, platform or developer experience teams, internal systems built from 0 to 1, incident response, AI tooling, Golang or Rust, WebSockets, CDNs, streaming traffic, audio/video delivery, security practices, or technical leadership and management.
