Responsibilities
- Own projects from ideation, planning, and architecture through implementation, deployment, production impact, and measurement.
- Design and operate high-performance, scalable distributed systems for identity importing, synchronization, provisioning, and resolution.
- Drive the migration from a legacy monolith to a microservices architecture across multiple teams.
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives, architecture decisions, delivery discussions, and stakeholder alignment.
- Troubleshoot complex production incidents and improve monitoring, alerting, observability, reliability, and support processes.
- Conduct design and code reviews focused on reliability, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers and contribute to engineering culture, strategy, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, SRE, Technical Support, Documentation, Field, CSMs, and other cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience building highly reliable, mission-critical software at scale.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented programming, particularly Java, with experience architecting large-scale distributed systems.
- Expert-level experience with Spring Boot, Maven, and modern Java development practices.
- Experience with MySQL, Redis, S3, directory services, RESTful APIs, gRPC, microservices, batch processing, real-time synchronization, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS or GCP, including SQS, S3, and multi-region architectures.
- Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives, influence architectural decisions, own ambiguous projects independently, and translate strategy into execution.
- Strong communication, mentorship, customer-focus, strategic thinking, and technical risk-management skills.
- Preferred experience with Protocol Buffers, asynchronous processing, multithreading, concurrency, automated testing, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, Azure APIs, Microsoft Graph API, feature flags, observability, migration strategies, identity resolution, graph databases, change data capture, resilience patterns, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
