Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and build key components of Stellar Core, the backbone software behind the Stellar Network.
- Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for developers and network participants.
- Design architectures and subsystems in collaboration with engineering leadership and open-source developers.
- Write maintainable code with careful edge-case analysis and future-proofing.
- Own core Stellar Core subsystems and support critical product milestones.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.
- Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks using debugging and benchmarking.
- Author detailed technical feature and protocol RFC specifications.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience developing software on a team.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Production experience writing modern C++ or Rust.
- Ability to communicate clearly and lead technical discussions during design and code review.
- Understanding of software design patterns and reusable, extensible, modular components.
- Knowledge of development best practices and tools, with enthusiasm for technological innovation.
- Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
- Collaborative communication style, empathy, autonomy, and openness to new ideas.
- Bonus: direct experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
- Bonus: curiosity about blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies and understanding of their fundamentals.

- Base salary range of $190,000-$300,000, plus lumen-denominated grants.
