Base Salary
$197k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver machine learning models and components for real-world business problems.
- Develop and operate the high-throughput, multi-tenant ML training platform and Kubeflow Pipelines v2 application layer on Amazon EKS.
- Build internal Python and Go SDKs, custom Kubernetes operators, developer tooling, and distributed ML infrastructure.
- Design and optimize ML models, training processes, feature and data pipelines, hyperparameter tuning, validation, and model evaluation.
- Write and test application code, automate testing and deployment, and maintain production ML services.
- Retrain, maintain, monitor, and govern models in production.
- Contribute to upstream open-source Kubeflow and integrate agentic AI into engineering workflows.
- Apply responsible, explainable, secure, and risk-aware AI and software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Java, Golang, or C++.
- At least 4 years of machine learning experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn.
- At least 4 years of experience using and operating large-scale distributed systems such as Spark and Ray for AI or ML data preparation.
- At least 2 years of experience deploying and operating ML solutions in production and operating cloud production services using AWS, GCP, or Azure and Kubernetes.
- Preferred: master’s or doctoral degree in a related field.
- Preferred: 3+ years designing, training, optimizing, and evaluating modern ML models and 3+ years architecting and scaling distributed end-to-end ML systems.
- Preferred: 3+ years managing ML workloads with Docker, Kubernetes, and pipeline orchestration tools such as Kubeflow.
- Preferred: 3+ years applying software best practices and deploying resilient systems with progressive rollouts, monitoring, alerting, and incident response planning.
- Preferred: 1+ year as a technical lead developing ML solutions and authorship or co-authorship of an ML-related paper.
