Base Salary
$262k - $364k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for whole-response helpfulness across AI Mode and AI Overviews.
- Architect scalable quality infrastructure and closed-loop self-improving systems that accelerate experimentation and launches.
- Drive quality improvements through both out-of-model methods and in-model methods.
- Define measurement, hill-climbing, and upstreaming approaches for response aspects beyond text.
- Establish collaborations that align priorities and technical direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of software development experience.
- At least 7 years leading technical project strategy, ML design, and end-to-end applied machine learning, including model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, and debugging.
- At least 5 years of experience with design and architecture and with testing and launching software products.
- Experience in AI/ML quality evaluation and improvement.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred qualifications include 8 years with data structures and algorithms, 5 years in technical leadership roles leading project teams and setting technical direction, and 3 years in complex matrixed organizations involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- Experience driving out-of-model quality improvements through prompting, APO, modular serving, and orchestration, as well as in-model improvements through post-training and evaluations.
