Responsibilities

Develop software and data-driven intelligence for products using big-data backends.
Perform exploratory data analysis and design efficient data structures and algorithms.
Develop advanced algorithms and support machine learning models and pipelines when applicable.
Manage data in large-scale NoSQL, time-series, and geospatial data stores.
Create metrics and evaluate algorithms for improved accuracy and recall.
Improve data access and usage through indexing, clustering, caching, and related techniques.
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, with hands-on software development experience.
2–3 years of product development experience involving algorithmic work.
Knowledge of Java or Python programming languages.
Experience with Python analytics and visualization tools or Java-based tools such as RapidMiner, JavaML, and JSAT.
Strong understanding of SQL and querying NoSQL databases such as Mongo, Cassandra, and Redis.
Understanding of large-database management concepts including indexing, sharding, and caching.
Exposure to big-data technologies including Hadoop, YARN, Redshift, Spark, and Kafka.
Understanding of SaaS products and services.
Machine learning algorithm knowledge, geospatial data-store experience, PostGIS knowledge, and data visualization experience are desirable.
