Responsibilities
- Lead complex ServiceNow applications and integrations across HRSD, ITSM, Workday, Okta, Glean, and custom APIs.
- Define scoped-application architecture, coding standards, platform architecture, and scalable integration patterns.
- Build server-side and client-side ServiceNow logic using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer actions, and IntegrationHub.
- Architect REST and SOAP integrations using event-driven and fault-tolerant patterns.
- Design and own MCP servers and API-layer connectors that expose ServiceNow capabilities to AI agents and internal tooling.
- Establish team use of Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-assisted development tools.
- Own ATF coverage, AI-assisted test generation, regression prevention, and development, testing, and production pipeline hygiene.
- Lead root-cause analysis, dashboards, metrics, alarms, runbooks, and structured debugging of production issues.
- Coordinate project deliverables, write designs, estimate work, review artifacts, and lead release and upgrade planning including Now Assist.
- Mentor developers and communicate technical and design tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years on the ServiceNow platform.
- Demonstrated ownership of ServiceNow platform architecture, including scoped versus global applications, ACLs, table hierarchy, GlideRecord, and scalable integration patterns.
- Expert proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+, and server-side ServiceNow scripting.
- Strong experience building and owning REST integrations between ServiceNow and external SaaS platforms.
- Production experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Now Assist.
- Experience designing MCP servers or API-layer connectors for AI agents and tooling.
- Regular use of AI-assisted development in daily workflow and ability to set team standards for its use.
- Hands-on experience with Git or equivalent source control in a team development workflow.
- ServiceNow CSA certification is required; CAD and CIS certifications are preferred.
