Responsibilities
- Own Linktree’s AI platform, including pipelines, model and prompt versioning, evaluation harnesses, monitoring, and rollback.
- Set pre-launch and post-launch evaluation standards for AI features.
- Own inference cost, latency, reliability, and related operational metrics.
- Drive internal AI adoption through tooling, agent workflows, and enablement across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Support.
- Establish proportionate governance for data handling, vendor risk, and pre-launch evaluation.
- Partner with Data leadership on AI investment sequencing, roadmap alignment, and financial considerations.
- Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions and determine what should not be built.
- Mentor engineers and analysts working on AI surfaces and raise the organization’s operational standards.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in ML/AI engineering, data platform, or AI operations, including hands-on ownership of production systems.
- Experience running AI or ML systems in production, including pipelines, model and prompt versioning, evaluation, monitoring, and incident response.
- Working fluency with modern LLM tooling and the practical constraints of cost, latency, context limits, and non-deterministic output.
- Track record of driving internal AI adoption through enablement, tooling, and changes to team workflows.
- Strong build-versus-buy judgment and comfort making pragmatic decisions with incomplete information.
- Ability to establish proportionate guardrails around data handling, vendor risk, and pre-launch evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining AI trade-offs to engineers and executives.
- Ability to work from Melbourne or Sydney offices on a hybrid basis, or remotely within Australia.
