Responsibilities
- Build software services and platforms supporting thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users.
- Design, build, test, and ship software across varied technologies, systems, and processes.
- Plan and prioritize roadmaps while collaborating with customers and stakeholders across Stripe.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Build reliable, scalable, and performant infrastructure for Stripe’s critical systems.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of industry software engineering experience, excluding internships and co-ops.
- Ability to write well-factored algorithms and use commonly used data structures and algorithms.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong coding skills in any programming language; the interview process is language agnostic.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across team workstreams and support peers.
- Ability to work with substantial autonomy and responsibility with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Interest in generalist work across varying technologies and stacks.
- Preferred: experience optimizing end-to-end performance of distributed systems.
- Preferred: focus on internal and external user needs and a high bar for production quality.
