Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain open-source RabbitMQ software primarily in Erlang.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy distributed message-broker systems and large-scale solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional peers and open-source project maintainers to influence strategy and define the team roadmap.
- Drive system architecture and establish best practices for a high-quality product.
- Coach and develop junior engineers through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
- Preferred: at least 5 years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
