Responsibilities
- Build and ship product capabilities across backend services, APIs, and modern web application interfaces.
- Own moderate-to-large projects end-to-end, including scoping, technical design, implementation, rollout, and iteration.
- Implement clear, maintainable, performant user-facing experiences aligned with product requirements and design direction.
- Partner with Product, Design, and adjacent engineering teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Identify and resolve technical risks, blockers, and mis-scoped work.
- Contribute to architectural and design discussions focused on maintainability, operability, and long-term productivity.
- Write code, tests, and technical documentation and provide code reviews.
- Mentor less experienced engineers through feedback, onboarding, and collaboration.
- Help improve engineering quality, team execution, and product experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Professional experience building and operating production software across backend and frontend layers.
- Experience developing backend services with Go, Rust, Python, Java, TypeScript, or a similar language.
- Experience building frontend applications with Angular, React, or similar modern frameworks.
- Experience with SQL-based relational databases in production.
- Experience building backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure and familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience designing and operating APIs, services, and asynchronous or event-driven systems.
- Experience with data modeling, persistence layers, cloud-native application development, observability, reliability, and operational practices.
- Experience with technical design documents, architectural proposals, and engineering standards.
- Preferred experience includes PostgreSQL and large-dataset performance tuning, Neo4j, GraphQL, ETL pipelines, Airflow-like frameworks, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, cybersecurity, vulnerability management, security analytics, or security data platforms.
- Preferred experience includes risk scoring, prioritization systems, data-intensive backend workflows, MVP definition, and technical standards adopted beyond an immediate team.
- Strong communication, execution, technical judgment, problem-solving, mentoring, product thinking, and ownership skills.
