Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise API and event-driven integration solutions using API Management platforms and Apache Kafka.
- Manage API design, governance, security, versioning, publishing, monitoring, developer portals, and API product enablement.
- Build, operate, and support Kafka-based integration platforms, including application migration, event streaming, and real-time data processing.
- Implement cloud-native platform engineering practices with Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Provide administration, installation, production support, non-production support, troubleshooting, remediation, and escalation for middleware products.
- Implement security, observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, incident management, and reliability practices for APIs and integration platforms.
- Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, middleware, QA, application, business, and platform teams to deliver scalable integration solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation and participate in full lifecycle application development, configuration, testing, and debugging.
- Identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years of formal education.
- 5–7 years of professional experience.
- Strong expertise in API Management, including API lifecycle management, governance, security, policy enforcement, versioning, developer portals, and API product management.
- Experience with API Management platforms such as Tyk, Apigee, or Layer7.
- Understanding of API and messaging security using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mTLS, secrets management, and access control.
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Platform and Apache Kafka, including brokers, topics, producers, consumers, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, stream processing, and platform administration.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable, secure, resilient, and reusable enterprise integration platforms.
- Experience with platform engineering, self-service platforms, developer experience, platform automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native integration services.
- Experience implementing observability for APIs and integration platforms through monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture, and microservices.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
