Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems for regulatory and risk-management needs.
- Mentor engineers, participate in technology communities, and promote current technology trends and practices.
- Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Use multiple programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools to build solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks with architects.
- Identify improvement opportunities, refactor systems, reduce technical debt, and enhance performance.
- Influence long-term technology strategy in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding in more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred: 3+ years with databases and database management systems, cloud technologies, frontend JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, cloud troubleshooting, and other listed engineering tools.
- Preferred: experience with open source frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, Git-based version control, AI coding tools, observability, and interactive AI productivity tooling.
- Preferred: at least 1 year mentoring engineers and driving professional development, plus experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts and establishing coding standards and design patterns.
