Responsibilities
- Build, launch, monitor, and support product services in a build-it-and-run-it environment.
- Develop and maintain high-traffic backend services using Go and Python.
- Improve existing designs and architecture for quarter-bounded projects and mission-critical squad areas.
- Build efficient, loosely coupled services as part of the transition from a monolith to a distributed service-oriented architecture.
- Contribute to frontend work using Vue.js, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript when needed.
- Deliver high-quality, non-disruptive production releases with comprehensive testing.
- Build observability through monitoring, alerting, and tracing, and use data to drive improvements.
- Participate in incident management, on-call support, and high-impact chaos mitigation.
- Facilitate technical discussions, identify delivery optimizations, document work, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go and proven experience with Python.
- Experience building and maintaining high-traffic backend services and regularly delivering features.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture.
- Working knowledge of modern frontend technologies such as Vue.js or React, with JavaScript or TypeScript experience.
- Strong software development lifecycle knowledge and comprehensive testing experience.
- Experience with observability systems, including monitoring, alerting, and tracing, plus incident management and on-call work.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Expertise in API design, including REST and GraphQL.
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions, work autonomously, communicate clearly, and collaborate across functions.
- Fluent English communication skills for working with an international team.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and contribute to team knowledge through documentation and code reviews.
