Base Salary

$142k - $213k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy Web3 components and integrations including smart contracts, on-chain event listeners, wallet integrations, and blockchain protocol connectors.
  • Build and maintain backend services interfacing with public and permissioned blockchain networks.
  • Develop, test, and audit smart contracts for security, correctness, and gas efficiency.
  • Integrate Web3 libraries and SDKs into enterprise Java and/or Node.js backend services.
  • Implement asynchronous, event-driven architectures for on-chain events, transaction lifecycle management, and blockchain state synchronization.
  • Contribute to scalable, secure, and resilient Web3 infrastructure through architecture collaboration, code reviews, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Support digital asset custody, tokenization, DeFi/TradFi bridging, and other institutional digital asset integrations.
  • Track protocol upgrades, token standards, Layer 2 solutions, and emerging Web3 tooling.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with globally distributed engineering and business teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • 12+ years of overall software engineering experience with a strong backend development foundation.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on Web3 and blockchain application development experience, including smart contracts and protocol integration.
  • 4–6 years of backend development experience using Java/Spring, Node.js, or equivalent enterprise frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Solidity, smart contract testing frameworks, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Web3J, Web3JS, Ethers.js, or Viem.
  • Understanding of blockchain consensus, transaction lifecycles, gas models, wallets, key management, token standards, and tokenization patterns.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming, event-driven systems, and message queuing such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of cryptographic concepts including digital signatures, hashing, PKI, and secure key management.
  • Exposure to Layer 2 solutions such as Polygon, Optimism, and zkSync, and to cross-chain interoperability protocols is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Hyperledger Besu, Solana, or Canton, financial services or regulated industries, Agile/Scrum, and distributed-team collaboration is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Git, Jira, Jenkins, Hardhat or Foundry, Docker, Helm, and observability platforms.
