Base Salary
$90k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Guide small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates, on assigned engineering projects.
- Translate project requirements into technical solutions and develop code for small to large-sized complex projects.
- Build ETL workflows, process distributed datasets, perform data transformations and analytics, and optimize Hive queries.
- Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot bugs and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
- Respond to business and user questions regarding technical feasibility, implementation strategies, system changes, and solutions.
- Participate in project discovery and high-level design with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.
- Communicate project status and issues, collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, and ensure timely delivery and handoffs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience importing data with Sqoop into compressed HDFS, working with Parquet, ORC, Avro, CSV, and JSON formats, and analyzing and tuning Hive SQL queries.
- Experience executing HDFS and Unix commands with Shell Script and storing Delta files for upsert operations using Azure Blob.
- Experience writing Python ETL workflows in GCP Compute Engine and executing PySpark jobs in GCP Dataproc.
- Experience using BigQuery SQL, Azure Databricks, GCP Secret Manager, Azure Key Vault, and Apache Airflow.
