Responsibilities

  • Set architecture direction and reliability standards for IAM systems while serving as the senior technical voice for IAM reliability.
  • Define and maintain SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets and use them to drive prioritization and continuous reliability improvement.
  • Design, implement, and operate highly available IAM infrastructure and services across multi-region, hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Write and review production-quality services, APIs, automation frameworks, and internal tools.
  • Build self-service platforms, reusable modules, and golden-path automation for application teams.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD, release engineering, and workload automation to reduce manual operational work.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, blameless postmortems, and long-term remediation for high-severity IAM incidents.
  • Build and improve observability, monitoring, alerting, failover, backup validation, chaos engineering, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, application, and compliance teams on enterprise resilience and business continuity strategy.
  • Mentor and coach engineers on reliability, automation, and software engineering practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering with staff- or senior-level technical leadership.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, or Java, with the ability to build production-quality services and tooling.
  • Experience designing and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable production systems in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and release engineering practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Track record of building self-service tooling, reusable modules, or golden-path automation for engineering teams.
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Deep experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, ELK, Splunk, or SIEM tools.
  • Proven ability to lead high-severity incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem processes.
  • Experience with disaster recovery, failover strategies, resilience testing, chaos engineering, and tabletop exercises.
  • Understanding of AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments supporting production workloads at scale.
  • Experience with IAM platforms or security-focused systems such as Microsoft Entra, Okta, Idira, SailPoint, Ping, or HashiCorp Vault is preferred.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP, and SCIM, plus enterprise security architecture and compliance frameworks, is preferred.
  • Exposure to AIOps or ML-based anomaly detection is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to influence technical direction without direct authority.
