Base Salary
$124k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver complete software solutions across design, implementation, testing, delivery, and operations.
- Own CPE tooling codebases, including code review, testing, release practices, deployment, and long-term upkeep.
- Carry the knowledge base platform from pre-production to production, including monitoring, backup and restore, and documented operational ownership.
- Design, build, and operate services and automation that reduce repetitive manual work and correlate operational signals.
- Own PostgreSQL schemas and data layers, including migrations, roles, grants, indexing, and query performance.
- Advise management on project-level technical decisions, including build-versus-configure and sequencing choices.
- Review code and provide technical guidance to engineers developing automation alongside operational work.
- Partner with external engineering teams to obtain service topology and dependency information.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of a production codebase across design, review, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Working fluency in Shell scripting, Python, and TypeScript.
- Strong database experience, including schema design, migrations, roles and grants, indexing, query performance, backup, restore, and production database operations.
- Production cloud infrastructure experience with AWS and GCP, including deployment and observability.
- Prior on-call rotation experience and the ability to serve as an escalation path for owned services.
- Ability to drive technical designs across teams without direct authority and work effectively in ambiguous situations.
- Preferred qualifications include PostgreSQL with pgvector or another vector store, embeddings, similarity search, retrieval systems, LLM tooling, managed Postgres at scale, and alerting or monitoring platforms.
- Preferred experience includes Cloud SQL, RDS, Aurora, Datadog, Splunk, PagerDuty, event correlation, anomaly detection, or time-series analysis.
