Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Provide software systems engineering and integration leadership for secure DoD mission applications.
- Serve as the Government technical integrator across software elements, Space Force teams, DoD product teams, prime contractors, and stakeholders.
- Define and manage software, interface, schema, API, data, and operational requirements.
- Produce Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirements Specifications, verification cross-references, traceability artifacts, test objectives, and acceptance criteria.
- Plan and oversee software integration and deployment in air-gapped, classified, restricted, and accredited DoD environments.
- Coordinate deployment and integration activities using DoD-aligned DevSecOps pipelines, automated testing, security scanning, and artifact management.
- Lead integration verification strategy, including test approaches, exit criteria, defect triage, and readiness recommendations.
- Develop architecture and tooling recommendations to improve integration reliability and sustainment readiness.
- Present technical recommendations, decision packages, risk assessments, and options to Government and contractor stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers on secure integration patterns, interface discipline, verification rigor, and defense software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in software systems engineering or software integration, including requirements definition and cross-team integration leadership.
- Experience with requirements decomposition, architecture definition, interface specifications, verification strategy, and integration oversight.
- Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycles and secure design principles.
- Experience with service-oriented architectures, microservices, secure APIs, and data interfaces.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity processes, including RMF awareness and ATO-supporting technical artifacts.
- Ability to align software, systems, cybersecurity, Government, and prime-contractor teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting recommendations and risks to non-developer stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in regulated, mission-driven environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Desired qualifications include experience with DoD networks or classified mission systems, DoD-aligned DevSecOps frameworks, STIG hardening, security controls, vulnerability management, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Jira, Confluence, Agile development, ICDs, systems-of-systems engineering, and CSEP, ESEP, PMI, or PMP certifications.
- An active DoD Secret clearance or higher is desirable.
