Responsibilities
- Analyze legacy embedded software architectures and migrate them to next-generation microcontroller platforms.
- Port Embedded C firmware across hardware generations while maintaining functional equivalence.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain firmware for auxiliary converter control systems.
- Support CAN, CANOpen, Ethernet, RS232, MVB, and PC104-based interface integration.
- Perform hardware-software integration for power electronic converters and control units.
- Use service and diagnostic tools to analyze field issues, event logs, and system performance.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, type testing, system validation, and customer acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with global engineering, vehicle control system, and integration teams.
- Migrate legacy customer applications to new hardware platforms and support customer project customization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded software development on microcontrollers, software porting, type testing, or verification and validation.
- Strong programming experience in Embedded C and real-time embedded systems.
- Experience with interrupt-driven architectures, firmware debugging, low-level software development, software migration, controller replacement, MCU migration, and firmware porting.
- Strong understanding of power electronics control systems, including PWM control, converters, battery chargers, and digital control loops.
- Hands-on experience with CAN, CANOpen, Ethernet/TCP-IP, RS232, and MVB communication protocols.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers such as Infineon C167, ST10, XC2288, or equivalent embedded platforms is preferred.
- Exposure to CPLD/PLD architectures, programmable logic, and hardware timing concepts is desirable.
- Familiarity with railway standards EN50155, EN50121, EN50128, EN50126, EN50129, and EN61373 is advantageous.
