Responsibilities
- Define and document software requirements, PRDs, architectures, designs, and reviews for Renesas MCU embedded software.
- Translate product, marketing, market, and customer requirements into implementable software requirements and technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and technically lead BSPs, device drivers, RTOS integrations, connectivity middleware, OTA/FOTA capabilities, and sample applications.
- Manage traceability among requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, and release deliverables using Jira and similar tools.
- Lead technical discussions with domestic and international development teams, partners, and customers and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct design reviews and make technical decisions focused on quality, extensibility, reusability, and maintainability.
- Promote CI/CD, test automation, development-process standardization, and improved developer and customer software experience.
Requirements
- Professional experience developing embedded software in C.
- Experience developing MCU/SoC BSPs, device drivers, RTOS software, middleware, or communication stacks.
- Practical experience with software requirements definition, specification design, architecture design, and design reviews.
- Experience analyzing defects, identifying root causes, planning corrective actions, and improving quality.
- Ability to organize technical issues and build agreement with domestic and international stakeholders.
- Experience creating technical documentation and managing schedules, issues, and releases.
- Ability to independently learn new technical areas and apply them to product development.
- Preferred experience with FreeRTOS, Azure RTOS (ThreadX), or Zephyr RTOS development, porting, or integration.
- Preferred experience with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, MQTT, TLS, bootloaders, boot-time optimization, memory layouts, or multi-OS/coexistence designs.
- Preferred experience in automotive, edge AI, industrial equipment, customer or overseas-partner technical coordination, Python, Shell, CI/CD, test automation, process standardization, or small-team technical leadership.
- Experience using AI for code development, code review, or testing is preferred.
