Base Salary

$92k - $206k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency APIs and backend services for flight search, booking, and payment workflows.
  • Own features across architecture, data modeling, implementation, deployment, and production monitoring.
  • Build fault-tolerant systems with automated testing, observability, alerting, and telemetry.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering leads to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared frameworks, engineering practices, developer productivity, and platform stability.
  • Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and tools to modernize the backend stack and improve architecture.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional backend software development experience shipping production-grade applications.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and API design.
  • Proficiency in Java and hands-on experience with Spring or Spring Boot and Hibernate or other ORMs.
  • Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS using microservice architectures.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, caching strategies, relational databases, and distributed state.
  • Ability to design maintainable solutions, write high-quality tested code, and contribute technical documentation.
  • Clear communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional partners and explaining technical trade-offs.
  • Experience with consumer-facing products, high-availability transactional platforms, or travel technology integrations is a plus.
