Base Salary
$115k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of developers and researchers implementing machine learning algorithms for customer challenges.
- Apply large language models to remote sensing applications including collection tasking, collection-plan gap identification, and pattern-of-life analysis.
- Fine-tune foundation models and build adapters for new applications.
- Apply retrieval-augmented generation techniques to populate and query vector databases.
- Build custom applications using LLM frameworks.
- Deploy LLM solutions across cloud-based and local resources.
- Analyze image, text, and graph datasets to identify statistically relevant features and build actionable models.
- Review relevant publications and apply emerging concepts to defense and commercial applications.
- Communicate technical status with internal and external leadership.
- Work with a program manager to define project scope and schedules and meet customer milestones.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with an adjudicated polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience, preferably in software development or data science, including at least two years building LLM applications.
- Experience with foundation-model fine-tuning, steering and inference-time techniques, adapters, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, LLM frameworks, AI APIs, LLM deployment frameworks, and ReAct-based UIs.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams of researchers and software developers.
- Experience with Python and data science or machine learning libraries.
- Preferred master’s or PhD in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- Preferred experience with LLMs, computer vision, NLP, object detection, generative models, reinforcement learning, clustering, deep neural networks, tracking, and pattern-of-life algorithms.
- Preferred experience with Hugging Face, computer vision libraries, Linux, AWS, additional programming languages, CUDA, application deployment, virtualization, containerization, remote sensing datasets, and proposal writing.
