Responsibilities
- Lead automation testing initiatives using Playwright and Karate.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated and functional test cases for REST and SOAP APIs.
- Perform API testing with Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, and Karate, including validation of payloads, headers, authentication, status codes, security, and error handling.
- Develop scalable automation frameworks, reusable components, and testing best practices.
- Conduct test planning, regression testing, integration testing, and release validation.
- Log, troubleshoot, track, and verify defects while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Review test results, provide quality metrics, and communicate testing progress and risks to leadership.
- Maintain test documentation, artifacts, automation reports, and knowledge repositories.
- Mentor and guide automation engineers and promote a quality-first engineering culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
- Proven expertise designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks with Playwright and Karate.
- Strong hands-on experience testing REST and SOAP services and developing automated API test suites.
- Proficiency with Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, and Karate.
- Strong understanding of API protocols, request and response structures, authentication mechanisms, headers, status codes, and error handling.
- Experience integrating automated API test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of test planning, regression testing, integration testing, defect management, and test reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
