Responsibilities
- Design and build backend infrastructure for authentication, permissions, feature flagging, notifications, and document management integrations
- Build and evolve Harvey’s internal product platform to accelerate development across product lines and engineering teams
- Lead development of secure multi-party collaboration, cross-organization workflows, and enterprise administrative controls
- Maintain high standards for security, privacy, and system reliability when handling sensitive legal data
- Collaborate with product, AI, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver enterprise-ready experiences
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend-focused software engineering experience after a BS or MS
- Experience working across the stack to ship user-facing features with measurable impact
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, REST and gRPC APIs, databases, and scalable service architectures
- Experience building backend platforms that support multiple product lines
- Strong programming skills and general computer science knowledge
- Familiarity with or interest in enterprise SaaS patterns such as role-based access control, feature flag systems, and third-party integrations is preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid Canadian work rights; visa sponsorship is not currently offered
