Responsibilities
- Deliver key functional changes to electronic trading strategy engines.
- Implement core framework-level changes for the next-generation electronic trading platform.
- Collaborate with quantitative traders to capture and implement requirements.
- Participate in requirements gathering, development, unit testing, patch reviews, and second-level support.
- Support and mentor more junior team members while taking technical direction from the team lead.
- Contribute across development, testing, support, and analysis in a multifaceted role.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with core Java APIs, including collections, concurrency, and NIO.
- Experience with multithreaded systems, Java garbage collection, and low-latency I/O.
- Understanding of design patterns, object-oriented design, UML, and test-driven development.
- Experience with Eclipse or IntelliJ, Git, continuous build servers, and Maven or Gradle.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a global, multifaceted team.
- Preferred: understanding of VWAP, TWAP, Arrival Price, or smart routing strategies.
- Preferred: experience with front-office system design and architecture for algorithmic trading platforms.
- Preferred: knowledge of equities or derivatives markets and FIX connectivity, including heartbeating, login, sequence numbers, and message types.
- Preferred: experience working with agile methodologies.
