Responsibilities

  • Apply quantitative methods to develop capabilities meeting business, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand financial data schemas, flows, scale, quality issues, and controls.
  • Build performant big-data pipelines and scalable software components.
  • Develop high-quality code for modeling and testing processes using software lifecycle principles.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand modeling and testing processes and requirements.
  • Source and evaluate data for modeling and testing.
  • Design, develop, and implement models and tests.
  • Maintain and enhance capabilities as portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks change.
  • Produce clear, concise, and repeatable technical documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a closely related field, or a degree from a program where software engineering was a key focus, or equivalent work experience.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience or evidence of personal projects and endeavors demonstrating coding and problem-solving passion.
  • Strong programming skills, such as Python, and a solid understanding of software development lifecycle principles.
  • Experience with software engineering practices including modular code, unit testing, and regression testing.
  • Experience with quantitative methods such as modeling, data analytics, machine learning, or statistics.
  • Experience with large-scale structured or unstructured data sets.
  • Strong Python development skills, including Pandas and related data-processing libraries.
  • Experience with big-data technologies such as Spark, PySpark, Hadoop, and Hive.
  • Experience building user-facing applications over large amounts of data using technologies such as React, Angular, or JavaScript.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and automation is relevant.
  • Global Risk Management experience is beneficial.
  • Exposure to quantitative or financial modeling is beneficial but not required.
