Responsibilities
- Design and oversee common, reusable, and scalable software components for data and analytical capabilities.
- Build performant big data pipelines and deliver high-quality code for modeling and testing processes.
- Apply quantitative methods and develop models, tests, data capabilities, and business solutions.
- Source and evaluate modeling and testing data, understand financial data flows and controls, and address data issues.
- Collaborate with risk managers, modelers, technologists, business stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
- Provide leadership and oversight to less experienced team members and lead enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Maintain and continuously enhance capabilities in response to changing portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks.
- Produce clear, concise, repeatable technical documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
- Drive improvements in quality, efficiency, processes, automation, and organizational weaknesses.
Requirements
- Several years of relevant work experience, including software engineering experience in quantitative finance or another industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a closely related field, or a degree from a program where software engineering was a key focus, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong programming skills such as Python and a solid understanding of software development lifecycle principles.
- Experience with modular code, unit testing, regression testing, distributed computing paradigms, and distributed software optimization.
- Knowledge of quantitative methods including regression, classification, clustering, data analytics, machine learning, and statistics.
- Experience working with large-scale structured or unstructured datasets.
- At least three listed capabilities, including quantitative methods, large-scale data, or user-facing applications using React, Angular, or JavaScript.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Global Risk Management experience and experience implementing strategic process improvements or automation are helpful.
