Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture of the Kubernetes platform across GCP, AWS, and on-premises environments.
- Design and build Kubernetes infrastructure on bare metal and virtualized systems, including provisioning, operating systems, networking, storage, and lifecycle management.
- Own tunnels, interconnects, traffic management, and service discovery between environments.
- Prepare the platform for CPU- and GPU-based AI batch workloads and model serving.
- Operate platform services with engineering teams, including on-call support and end-to-end debugging.
- Improve observability, resiliency, and automation across the platform.
- Mentor engineers and raise technical standards through design reviews, code reviews, and engineering practices.
- Advise leadership on platform direction, workload placement, and long-term investment.
Requirements
- 7 or more years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
- Hands-on experience building, upgrading, and operating production Kubernetes clusters and control planes.
- Experience with managed Kubernetes in GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including load balancing, routing, DNS, VPNs, interconnects, and cross-environment network debugging.
- Programming experience for infrastructure automation and backend services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and GitOps tools such as Terraform and ArgoCD.
- On-premises experience with bare-metal Kubernetes, data center operations, or hardware provisioning is a strong plus.
- Experience with Talos Linux, KubeVirt, Cluster API, OpenStack, or similar technologies is a plus.
- Experience operating GPU workloads on Kubernetes for training or inference is a plus.
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud architectures, including cloud bursting, is a plus.
- Experience operating Kafka, Flink, Valkey, or distributed storage systems at scale is a plus.
- Knowledge of online advertising and adtech systems is a plus.
- Sufficient English proficiency for frequent professional verbal and written communication with worldwide colleagues and partners.
