Responsibilities
- Design, implement, debug, and iterate on destruction and environmental-interaction gameplay systems with game designers.
- Develop gameplay features in a C++ multithreaded engine using modern programming techniques.
- Own complex gameplay features from early prototypes through final implementation.
- Collaborate on physics-aligned systems and engine features to create consistent, responsive, and believable destruction behaviors.
- Optimize algorithms, memory usage, and bandwidth for performance-critical systems.
- Expose robust, usable gameplay tools and data for designers and artists.
- Troubleshoot gameplay and system-level issues involving destructible content and systemic interactions.
- Document systems and workflows, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical discussions.
Requirements
- Strong experience programming in C++ within game development.
- Solid understanding of gameplay architecture and system-driven design.
- Interest in and practical knowledge of destruction systems, physics-adjacent gameplay, or systemic world interactions.
- Ability to work comfortably in a multithreaded, performance-critical environment.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
