Base Salary
$200k - $330k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, multi-tenant infrastructure that isolates customer data and supports efficient AI model serving.
- Build secure golden paths, including service templates, libraries, Terraform policies, and automation.
- Own Terraform infrastructure-as-code, reusable modules, GitOps practices, and policy-as-code.
- Expand and operate platforms for alerting, detection, secrets management, IAM, and automated remediation.
- Integrate security capabilities into CI/CD and developer workflows.
- Translate enterprise and compliance requirements, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR, into automated technical controls.
- Participate in security on-call and improve operability, runbooks, and incident learning.
- Shape the technical direction of Decagon’s infrastructure security program as its first dedicated engineer in this area.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating production infrastructure, with meaningful security exposure or strong interest in security.
- Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS, including compute, networking, IAM, and security services.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or Ansible and experience building developer-facing tooling and automation.
- Strong coding ability in at least one systems language, such as Python, Go, or TypeScript.
- Experience applying AI-assisted tooling such as Cursor or Claude Code.
- Experience with secure container deployment, service mesh, and Kubernetes security best practices.
- Experience with observability and incident-response tooling, including instrumentation, alerting, and dashboards.
- Clear written communication and ability to turn ambiguous requirements into reliable designs.
- Preferred experience as an early or founding platform, infrastructure, or security engineer.
- Preferred experience building internal platforms, service templates, paved-road deployments, self-service environments, or developer portals.
- Preferred familiarity with software supply-chain security, including provenance, secrets, least privilege, Semgrep, or CodeQL.
- Preferred experience with detection and response data pipelines such as Kafka, Pulsar, Splunk, Panther, or RunReveal.
- Preferred knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR from an infrastructure and platform perspective.
