Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable components of distributed systems and optimize them for large-scale data processing.
- Build fault-tolerant components using redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and recovery-oriented techniques.
- Implement performance, load, functional, fault-injection, and brown-out testing.
- Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and address failures.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues, participate in operational support rotations and incident response, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code tooling for troubleshooting and cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, change management, and compliance practices.
Requirements
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing components of distributed systems for scalability, resiliency, operability, and large-scale data processing.
- Ability to implement replication, synchronization, redundancy, failover, and recovery mechanisms.
- Experience with testing, monitoring, telemetry, alerting, operational troubleshooting, and incident response.
- Ability to develop automation and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of security controls, encryption, access management, remediation, compliance, and change management.
