Senior Product Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship resident-facing applications from concept through public launch.
- Own product components end-to-end or contribute to frontend, backend, mobile, and data pipeline work as needed.
- Build integrations with government APIs, flat-file feeds, open data portals, and legacy systems.
- Collaborate with product, design, research, policy, legal, agency, and engineering stakeholders on product decisions and prioritization.
- Support hosting, performance testing, accessibility audits, security reviews, and production-quality standards.
- Translate eligibility rules and regulations into clear and accurate product logic.
- Write technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture notes.
- Develop reusable patterns, components, and infrastructure, and contribute to code review, mentorship, onboarding, and engineering culture.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field plus six years of satisfactory full-time related experience; or a baccalaureate degree in any field plus ten years of such experience; or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture, and/or IT infrastructure systems is listed in the civil service qualification requirements.
- Ability to work across the stack and integrate modern and legacy government data systems.
- Ability to collaborate with technical, product, design, policy, legal, and agency stakeholders.
