Responsibilities
- Design and maintain AWS account structure, VPC networking, IAM policies, and cost-management controls using Terraform.
- Maintain secure networking layers with AWS load balancers and zero-trust principles.
- Operate and harden production-grade Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS.
- Build reusable infrastructure-as-code modules with Terraform.
- Create self-service CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Deliver real-time observability using tools like Datadog and Grafana.
- Administer and maintain Linux VMs via configuration management tools.
- Deploy and maintain databases on AWS, ensuring high performance and uptime.
- Support developers with local dev boxes and Kubernetes staging environments.
- Implement FinOps practices to track and optimize AWS spending.
- Write automation utilities and command-line tools in Python.
- Champion reliability through incident reviews and capacity planning.
- Collaborate in Agile rituals and promote DevOps best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Three plus years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably EKS.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash or Zsh scripting.
- Strong understanding of core AWS services like EC2, VPC, and IAM.
- Experience applying FinOps principles for cost monitoring and optimization.
- Solid experience with Docker and container runtimes.
- Hands-on practice with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Proven use of Datadog for metrics and logs.
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows and pull-request reviews.
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database internals.
- Competent in Linux administration and performance tuning.
- Practical knowledge of networking protocols and tools.
- Clear communication skills for translating technical topics.
