Base Salary
$102k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable distributed services that scan package managers such as npm, NuGet, and PyPI.
- Integrate security policies and scanners with engineering systems.
- Build tools that help Microsoft engineers securely consume and develop open-source software.
- Support customers and production services, including on-call monitoring and restoration of simple service issues.
- Determine user requirements, contribute to design documents, implement features, decompose work items, and provide estimates.
- Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of technical engineering experience coding in the listed languages, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 1+ year of experience with packaging ecosystems such as NPM, PyPI, NuGet, and Maven.
- Preferred: 1+ year of software security experience involving threat modeling, isolation, integrity checking, and certificates.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of package managers, package building and installation across languages, and open-source software development practices.
