Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle databases across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, storage and memory optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- Manage database security, user access, auditing, data masking, upgrades, migrations, and patching.
- Design cloud-native solutions and migrate on-premises Oracle databases to OCI, Azure, or AWS.
- Implement automated provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Automate database operations using Python, Shell scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Set up monitoring and alerting using OEM, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and OCI Monitoring.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and security teams while providing technical guidance and documentation.
- Support production systems with on-call availability as required.
Requirements
- 15+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA and development experience.
- Expertise in Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, PL/SQL, performance tuning, AWR, ASH, SQL Tuning Advisor, and RMAN.
- Experience with OCI, AWS, or Azure cloud environments and cloud networking, security, WAF, and IAM.
- Strong Python, Shell, and PowerShell scripting skills, including Python package management, object-oriented development, and coding best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, test-driven development, pytest, code coverage, and code quality tools is preferred or advantageous.
- Experience with Exadata or Autonomous Database and Oracle Certified Professional or Oracle Cloud certifications is preferred.
- Exposure to Hadoop or Spark is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
