Responsibilities
- Assist with designing, developing, testing, and implementing enterprise web applications.
- Develop and enhance front-end components, Java services, APIs, and application integrations.
- Create responsive, accessible, and user-friendly web experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Work with relational databases and write basic SQL queries.
- Support application testing, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, QA analysts, and product teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Learn and apply secure coding, privacy, accessibility, authentication, authorization, cloud, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
- Use approved AI-assisted development tools responsibly for coding, testing, documentation, and learning.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or possess an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Have completed coursework, academic projects, co-op experience, or personal projects involving Java.
- Understand object-oriented programming principles.
- Have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Be familiar with relational databases and SQL fundamentals.
- Understand web application development and software development lifecycle concepts.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Be proficient in spoken and written English because the role supports clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States.
- Preferred qualifications include exposure to Spring Boot or other Java frameworks, Git, Angular, React, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, automated testing, DevOps, software deployment, CI/CD, generative AI, responsible AI, and web application development projects.
