Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for complex ML projects and guide team priorities.
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable ML and software systems while justifying architectural decisions.
- Define project problems, develop roadmaps, and oversee delivery across multiple workstreams in high-risk environments.
- Drive shared resources and libraries and guide engineers contributing to them.
- Lead hiring, selection, mentoring, and team development activities.
- Recommend new technologies and changes to ways of working.
- Act as a technical expert and coach for customers, estimate large workstreams, and defend recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical breadth and deep expertise in selected topics.
- Strong Python skills and practical experience operationalising models with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Expertise in at least one major cloud provider, such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Experience leading teams building full-stack web applications.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to manage and coach engineering teams and set team-wide development goals.
- Strong ownership of project outcomes, communication, and stakeholder guidance.
