Base Salary
$152k - $188k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, optimize, and maintain backend services using Java and Kotlin.
- Deploy and maintain production software, monitor service health, and improve uptime and performance.
- Develop APIs and services that process telemetry from Bevi’s smart machines.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex backend and user-interface issues using logs and metrics.
- Guide architectural discussions, technical design, application optimization, and software development planning.
- Collaborate with product management, hardware, and other cross-functional teams to deliver new features.
- Review code, promote unit and integration testing, and mentor other software engineers.
- Manage relationships with cloud providers, software vendors, and third-party backend integrations.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum processes and contribute to code quality and maintainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent related software development experience.
- 5+ years of backend Java/Kotlin development experience.
- Strong database design and development expertise with Postgres or a similar database system.
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications on cloud platforms.
- Strong API design expertise; GraphQL experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, logging, metrics, unit and integration testing, and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with microservice architectures and time-series databases such as Influx or TimescaleDB is a plus.
- Additional full-stack experience with TypeScript and React is a plus.
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues, develop effective solutions, and collaborate independently and cross-functionally.
