Responsibilities
- Develop scalable backend systems meeting reliability, security, performance, and other non-functional requirements.
- Build distributed payment systems using transaction-consistency patterns such as idempotency, event sourcing, and Saga.
- Write clean, efficient, testable, and maintainable code for FinTech and payment-platform challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and partners to deliver new capabilities.
- Conduct code reviews, maintain technical and operational documentation, and promote knowledge sharing.
- Diagnose complex production issues, implement fixes, and develop sustainable preventative solutions.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and the technical direction of services and projects.
- Improve observability, automation, reliability, and operational processes, including participation in on-call rotation.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns and use Generative AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and system capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least five years of relevant software development experience.
- Proficiency in Go, Java, or another major programming language.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
- Experience writing efficient, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code using appropriate abstractions and SOLID principles.
- Experience with clean architecture, data-intensive application design, and large-scale data processing.
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems with relational and NoSQL databases, caching technologies, and RESTful or gRPC services while maintaining data consistency.
- Practical experience with microservices, AWS, and DevOps practices.
- Experience designing systems that meet observability, availability, security, data governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to produce clear technical design documents and maintain operational documentation such as runbooks.
- Experience using Generative AI tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity and project delivery.
- Knowledge of or experience with FinTech and payment systems is preferred.
