Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes environments.
- Configure and maintain Rancher.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code and cloud instance provisioning patterns using Packer, Terraform, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Administer clustered virtualization environments, preferably VMware, and lead VMware vCenter automation and IaaS improvements.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the resilience of critical R&D environments.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes and systemic problems, and drive resolutions.
- Automate common tasks and deploy infrastructure using enterprise configuration management tools.
- Operate and improve large-scale CI/CD systems and source-code repositories.
- Understand and maintain automation scripts, programs, tools, frameworks, dashboards, and alarms.
- Document processes and procedures and perform code reviews for quality and style-guide adherence.
- Lead architectural initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, and improve developer inner-loop efficiency.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and lead distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working in a large-scale production environment.
- Expertise with Kubernetes, Rancher, virtualization administration, and enterprise infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Packer, Terraform, cloud provisioning across Azure, AWS, and GCP, and VMware vCenter.
- Experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Git, and Bitbucket.
- Experience with Python, Groovy, PowerShell, and automation scripting; familiarity with Go.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android operating systems at scale.
- Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and a security mindset.
- Ability to lead distributed teams, work cross-functionally worldwide, communicate effectively, make timely decisions, and learn independently.
- Ability to participate in on-call support and perform code reviews.
