Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services, distributed systems, service architectures, workflow orchestration, and developer-experience capabilities.
- Build reliable, secure, high-performance services and client libraries for storing and accessing data on AWS S3, GCS, and Azure Blob Store.
- Develop product features that help customers store and access their data.
- Solve reliability problems related to Lakebase.
- Investigate downtime, remove root causes, define SLIs, meet SLOs, and drive long-term reliability improvements.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle as a founding member of the London engineering team.
Requirements
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 8+ years of production-level experience in Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working on a SaaS platform or with service-oriented architectures.
- Knowledge of SQL.
