Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain GNC flight software components using C/C++.
- Develop simulation, analysis, and verification tools using Python.
- Build and maintain spacecraft dynamics, sensor, and actuator models using the USF-Sim simulation framework.
- Prototype and evaluate GNC algorithms through simulation and Monte Carlo analysis.
- Investigate and debug GNC performance issues using simulation and flight software test environments.
- Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and developer tooling.
- Develop and maintain Docker-based development and verification environments.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, GNC, computer vision, robotics, and flight software teams on mission development and verification.
- Improve software development processes, automation infrastructure, and engineering workflows.
- Document designs, analysis results, and technical decisions using Jira and Confluence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, or a related engineering discipline plus 2+ years of professional experience, or a relevant master's/PhD with demonstrated research or project experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
- Experience developing software collaboratively using Git and modern software development workflows.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Business-level English proficiency.
- Preferred experience includes Docker, software testing, debugging, automated verification frameworks, spacecraft models, GNC simulation, Monte Carlo analysis, Jira, Confluence, flight software, robotics, autonomous systems, or mission-critical software development.
- Business-level Japanese proficiency is desirable.
