Sr. Staff Software Engineer - Card Tech

Responsibilities
- Define and evangelize a bold technical vision for the Card Tech domain.
- Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions.
- Ensure the quality of technical designs and implementations.
- Advise on performance, scalability, operability, and other non-functional system characteristics.
- Develop production-ready software and apply AI-native, spec-driven development practices.
- Mentor engineers and product professionals while strengthening the technical community.
- Create technical communications, code samples, blog posts, and other knowledge-sharing materials.
- Manage multiple projects and balance time to maximize technical impact.
- Help attract and recruit technical talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 9 years of software engineering experience required.
- At least 9 years of experience designing distributed systems, backend architecture, and API platforms required.
- At least 9 years of experience with public cloud technologies required.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 10+ years of professional coding experience with languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Swift.
- Preferred: 10+ years of experience with event-driven systems and scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available services.
- Preferred: 10+ years of experience building high-performance API platforms and federated BFF architectures.
- Preferred: experience with GraphQL, REST, API gateways, gRPC, caching, and streaming.
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes; and automated deployment.
