Responsibilities
- Deliver user stories as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Build, deploy, and support services using Java and established software development techniques.
- Participate in testing, configuring, deploying, supporting, and monitoring services throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Build RESTful APIs and synchronous and asynchronous microservices.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their wellbeing, professional growth, and development.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence through coaching, knowledge sharing, and effective performance management.
Requirements
- Strong technical competence in Java, Spring Boot, open-source integration frameworks, test automation, and RESTful API development.
- Experience building loosely coupled synchronous and asynchronous microservices.
- Experience with TDD, unit testing, and automated integration testing.
- Working knowledge of Spring JPA, AOP, transactions, SQL and NoSQL databases, containers, and container management platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
- Cloud infrastructure experience and understanding of application security, continuous integration, and continuous delivery are desirable.
- Adaptability and general skills in problem solving, business analysis, quality assurance, application design, and architecture.
- Ability to obtain Security Check clearance, including continuous UK residence for the last five years and satisfaction of related eligibility criteria.
