Responsibilities
- Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python and Django supporting millions of daily users.
- Develop and ship functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization using modern APIs and frameworks.
- Collaborate with user researchers, designers, product managers, scientists, security engineers, and DevOps engineers.
- Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly, high-quality code with automated testing, build, and deployment.
- Work as part of an agile product team to deliver strong user experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a scientific field such as engineering or physics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming.
- At least 3 years of full-stack web application development experience using Python and Django.
- Understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with relational database modeling and data migration.
- Understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Preferred experience with Django web applications and services, Angular, ReactJS, web services, RESTful APIs, Lucene, Solr, semantic markup, modern web layout, Selenium, AWS, or other major cloud providers.
