Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python frameworks including FastAPI, Django, and Flask.
  • Architect scalable backend systems, microservices, asynchronous workloads, data models, business logic, and API gateways.
  • Build and integrate web interfaces, reusable UI components, state management, and third-party APIs.
  • Develop knowledge-graph, relational, vector-database, and data-processing capabilities.
  • Deploy and operate containerized services using Docker, Kubernetes, Nginx, and Terraform.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, secure coding, compliance, observability, monitoring, alerting, and error tracking.
  • Integrate machine-learning models and build LLM applications, RAG systems, prompt-engineering workflows, agentic AI solutions, MCP servers, and inference pipelines.
  • Use machine-learning, data-processing, interpretability, and A/B-testing tools to support model development and evaluation.
  • Optimize performance, debug complex issues, and improve application reliability and security.
  • Partner with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, technical roadmaps, code reviews, engineering standards, and production support.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, IT, or an equivalent qualification; an MSc or MCA is preferred.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial production Python development.
  • Strong Python fundamentals, including typing, asynchronous programming, API design, error handling, testing, profiling, and maintainable service architecture.
  • Production experience with FastAPI or a comparable Python API framework, relational databases, and automated testing.
  • Applied experience building or operating LLM-backed applications, preferably RAG systems using embeddings, vector or hybrid retrieval, and reranking.
  • Experience evaluating LLM features with representative datasets, measurable acceptance criteria, and regression tests.
  • Experience securing APIs and distributed services through authentication, authorization, secrets management, and safe handling of sensitive data.
  • Experience operating containerized services in Kubernetes or a comparable production platform.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills, including explaining tradeoffs, reviewing designs, mentoring engineers, and owning production support.
  • Experience with agents or MCP servers, permissioned tools, auditability, and robust failure behavior is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inference serving and optimization, including batching, concurrency limits, quantization, GPU memory management, or model capacity planning, is preferred.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL/pgvector, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana is preferred.
  • React and TypeScript experience is preferred if the role contributes substantially to the UI.
  • Experience with Agile development, industrial automation, process control, engineering documentation, safety- or reliability-sensitive domains, on-premises or air-gapped deployments, private registries, customer-managed certificates, or local inference is preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefits plans, including a variety of medical insurance plans and an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Employee resource groups, recognition programs, mentorship, training, and leadership-development opportunities.
  • Flexible time off plans, paid parental leave, vacation, and holiday leave.
