Senior Gameplay Programmer
Warner Bros. DiscoveryResponsibilities
- Create, develop, and maintain gameplay systems and features in C++.
- Develop combat, navigation, and NPC behavior systems that support emergent gameplay.
- Solve large, complex, and sometimes poorly defined gameplay problems.
- Collaborate with Design on engaging gameplay and communicate risks and opportunities.
- Provide feedback to teammates through code reviews and contribute broadly to team responsibilities.
- Communicate with the Lead, team, Production, and other departments.
- Support backlog review, task estimation, task breakdown, and Jira ticket management.
- Follow and champion game development best practices.
Requirements
- Experience developing gameplay systems using C++, including AI, navigation, or combat systems.
- Understanding of modern gaming platforms and experience developing software for one or more platforms.
- Experience contributing to the successful delivery of a commercial game title, preferably in a AAA environment.
- Strong game design skills demonstrated through previous work, projects, or portfolio examples.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
- Familiarity with Rocksteady titles and design philosophies is advantageous.
